How to safely Include pets in your newborn session / Phoenix baby photographer

April 19, 2021

Are you looking to hire a baby photographer in Phoenix? It’s no coincidence that you have stumbled across my blog. Hello and welcome! Offering in-home newborn photography services in and around Phoenix, I believe that this is where you and your newborn baby will be most relaxed. While being able to include a setting that is uniquely yours, in-home newborn sessions help keep older siblings entertained and allow me to include family pets as well. My number one goal is to offer an experience that’s enjoyable for everyone involved.

A pet is part of your family! They are a part of your day-to-day life and bring each member of your family constant joy. Creating family memories that include all family members in your images, including your pets, make these moments extra meaningful and make your portraits complete.

If you have a dog, chances are your fur baby is going to be picking my dog’s scent. A treat can go a long way and help pets warm up to me a little. Nothing puts a damper on things more than your fur baby not liking me or my camera. The number and type of images I am able to capture depends on the personality of your pet! Sometimes we get all the images right at the beginning before he or she gets bored of me. Sometimes they just needs a bit of time to settle down, so it’s best to do the pet photos at the end of the session. If your pet hasn’t met your baby, or isn’t friendly with strangers, I definitely encourage you to use your discretion. Many families just put them in another room for the duration of their session. The last thing we want is someone getting hurt! This way we keep everyone safe.
