Finding the most beautiful locations for photography sessions is always a huge challenge for me. When I came across this amazing stone house by accident, I knew that I wanted to take Bridget’s autumn maternity photos at Hillside Park in Ashburn, Virginia. In addition to this cute stone house, there is a playground right in the back of the house, a bridge and a few nice trees that always offer a great background for outdoor photography sessions. Bridget contacted me on Facebook knowing that I was offering free photography sessions to help build my portfolio. When I arrived at Hillside Park I noticed that my camera battery was about to die. I was about to die. Having no backup battery with me and a German power cord in my camera bag that I wasn’t able to use at a nearby coffee shop, I had no choice but to tell Bridget and Keith to go for some coffee while I was speeding home to charge my battery. Honestly, this has never happened to me before and I now own an American power cord to charge my battery as well as a backup battery. I have learned my lesson and I am grateful that Bridget and Keith were in no rush that day. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. Despite the fact that it came across as unprofessional, the weather improved throughout the session 😉 Bridget and Keith are expecting a baby boy. Since they had already chosen a newborn photographer before Bridget contacted me, I will not be the one capturing his first precious moments. Dear Bridget and dear Keith, I wish you both all the best and I want to thank you so much for trusting me with taking these photos for you.
