Newborn Photos & COVID19 / Scottsdale Arizona Baby Photographer

March 2, 2021

Are you looking for a Scottsdale, Arizona baby photographer? Hello and welcome to my blog. Offering in-home newborn photography services in and around Scottsdale, AZ I believe that this is where you and your newborn baby will be most relaxed. While being able to include a setting that is uniquely yours, in-home newborn sessions help keep older siblings entertained and allow me to include family pets as well. My number one goal is to offer an experience that’s enjoyable and safe for everyone involved.  Speaking of safety…the COVID19 pandemic has many new parents worried whether they should hire a baby photographer at this time. Rightfully so. Thankfully, there are preventative and safe measures that I can take as a professional newborn photographer to make sure that you do not have to miss out on this opportunity.

Adelina, whose newborn photos are featured in this blog post, reached out to me right at the beginning of the COVID19 pandemic. While in tears, she spoke openly to me about her concerns and whether to move forward with her newborn shoot. As a new mom, she was fully aware of the faiding opportunity to be able to cherish her baby’s newborn photos for a lifetime and the fear of getting her baby sick at the same time. I can’t even imagine what new parents are facing during these tough and uncertain times…whether it’s dads not being able to attend ultrasound appointments, or extended family members not being able to visit the bundle of joy. Let me just say it, it truly sucks!

There are steps that I take to ensure a safe newborn photography experience for you and your family. The mask has become my best friend. While battling a fogged up screen on my camera and the difficulty to engage with siblings, your safety always comes first.  Washing my hands upon arrival in addition to applying handsanitzer and/or wearing gloves before handling your newborn baby has become part of every newborn session since the beginning of the pandemic. I further believe that in-home newborn sessions are safer than taking your entire family to a photography studio of your choice. While I hope for every photographer to be offering  a safe and clean environment to their client, I believe that you have more control over the sanitary condition in your own four walls. Hence, choosing an in-home photo shoot over a studio session may be the better option at this time. Adelina decided on a mini newborn session to keep my time spent in their home to a minimum. “We were extremely skeptical about setting up a newborn session because of the COVID-19 pandemic. After contemplating for days on end, we decided to take a leap of faith as these moments only come once in a lifetime. Our initial reservations were specifically on the potential health risks we may be putting on our newborn and weren’t completely comfortable with the idea of our baby being unclothed and touching props that have been used on others. It was a battle within trying to decide if we should or shouldn’t book a session. After numerous outreaches to different photographers in the area, we found that Stephanie was the most empathetic and sympathetic towards our dilemma. She was extremely flexible and understanding about our concerns. Stephanie made sure to keep our session as short as possible — practicing social distancing and using masks and gloves when coming in contact with our newborn. The overall experience was amazing — she delivered absolutely stunning photos that captured our newborn and the family beautifully. I highly recommend Stephanie if you are looking to have beautiful moments of your newborn captured while feeling at ease that your baby is in the safest environment given the current pandemic.” You can read a more detailed review here.
