Signature, full-length sessions with SHP take place either in-studio, in the comfort of your home, or at a beautiful outdoor location in the Washington DC area. These sessions offer the ultimate pampering experience including professional hair and makeup services for mom, so you can feel pampered and confident before our time together.

Simplicity Session
Simplicity sessions with SHP are shorter in length (approximately 30 minutes) and take place in-studio. Ideal for milestones, seasonal mini sessions, or occasions where a few photos are desired, this newborn photography session includes access to the client wardrobe.

The First Year Collective
SHP's First Year Collective is the most popular option for parents wanting to document their baby's first year of milestones. Choose between 3 or 4 signature sessions, all scheduled within a 12-month period, with professional hair and makeup included. Additionally, clients appreciate priority booking, a savings on their creative fees, a $200 album incentive at each ordering appointment, and a complimentary smash cake to celebrate baby's first birthday.

All of the planning is done, and it’s time for a joy-filled and relaxed Alexandria VA newborn session with me! The time is yours to love on your family, snuggle up, play, and laugh…but most of all, be yourselves!
Once you're booked, we'll set up a styling consultation (in-studio or virtual). Choose from flattering options in your own closet or from my client wardrobe for an effortless, stress-free experience. Then, I'll help coordinate looks for your family to ensure a beautiful and cohesive gallery.

Getting to know each other is a huge part of what makes a great newborn session. It puts everyone at ease and sets us up for success! We will go over your goals for your session, wardrobe and location ideas to help design the perfect session for you. It’s also a great time for you to get all of your questions answered.

The Big Reveal
Approximately 1-2 weeks after your session, join me in-studio or on Zoom for your gallery reveal. You’ll enjoy seeing your gorgeous newborn photos for the first time, and I'll assist with artwork design and answer any questions you may have.

Delivery
Your custom newborn portrait heirlooms are ready for you! Approximately 2-4 weeks after your gallery reveal appointment, I will arrange pick up or delivery for you.

How do we get on your calendar?
The first step is to reach out using the Contact form. After determining my availability, I’ll invite you to a virtual chat to get all of your questions answered. It's a great way to see if we're the right fit for each other!
What is your inclement weather policy?
I start monitoring the weather five days before your session. If the forecast is predicting rain, snow, or severe weather, I’ll reach out to you to discuss rescheduling options.
DO YOU SELL PRINT PRODUCTS LIKE WALL ART AND ALBUMS?
Absolutely, yes! As your full-service family photographer in Northern Virginia, I believe that life’s greatest gifts – our families – should be appreciated every day, rather than simply occupying space on the cloud. I’ve built relationships with high-quality, professional printers who share my mission to create treasured, heirloom-quality artwork for you to enjoy in your home, all while preserving your memories for generations to come.
Can our fur baby participate?
Yes! To me, pets are family, but please know that not every outdoor location allows pets. In addition, I recommend bringing along a friend on the day of your session to help care for your pet in between photos.
How do we prepare for our session?
In a virtual or in-person styling consultation, we will discuss what you and your family will wear to the session, what to bring, and anything else you may need to know in order to prepare for the big day.

Once I get to learn a little bit more about your family and what you are envisioning for your session, I can make recommendations accordingly. Do you like the idea of a water feature, woods, or wide open fields? Or perhaps you are envisioning a session in the comfort of your home? We’ll discuss all of your options during your pre-consultation.
