Last week I travelled all the way to Germany for four amazing family photography sessions while visiting with wonderful friends. I am beyond excited to share the lovely family session I captured in Rotenburg in Lower Saxony, Germany. I have met the Mehler family for their daughter’s one year portraits three years ago. What a beautiful lady Emilie has become. As a newborn and family photographer in Ashburn, Virginia I am truly grateful for the continued support from my former clients overseas. Mark your calendar, folks! I will definitely be back next year😉
We started the session in the same field I captured Emilie’s one year portraits. Wow, this brought back memories. Back then, she wasn’t even walking or talking much. She did give me the most adorable smiles though. Luckily that hasn’t changed. Photographing young children can be difficult. Unlike newborns or babies, they are all over the place which makes it hard to keep up. The key is to keep young children entertained while engaging them in conversations. I am not the type of photographer who is looking for the cheesiest “CHEEEEEEEEEESE”😅 The field offered an amazing opportunity for Emilie to pick flowers. She even picked some for me. Afterwards we went to the Rotenburg Heimathaus were Natalie and Sönke got married. What a great way to incorporate a meaningful location into their family photography session.
Dear Natalie and Sönke, I hope I get to see the three of you again next year. I truly enjoyed capturing these special moments for you. Auf ein baldiges Wiedersehen!❤️
