How fun are these amazing mommy and me portraits of Carissa and her sweet boy, Nicholas? The two of them signed up for my very first mommy and me mini photography session that I offered last weekend. With Mother’s Day just a few days away, I thought it would be fun to offer a session for just mom and her baby/babies. “I hardly have any pictures of Nicholoas and I. Most of the time it’s just him and his dad.” Being a mom myself, I know exactly how Carissa feels. Glad she came to hang out with me.😍
While I offered my first mini sessions last weekend, I honestly don’t know how strongly I feel about them and whether or not I would like to do them again. Nicholas, for example, took a good ten minutes to warm up to me. I wasn’t willing to rush through their session and gladly ended up giving them a whole lot more of my time. The more Nicholas spent time with me, the more he let me be part of his sweet personality. If you have previously boked a session with me you know that I will always take my time for the best possible results. Mini sessions may not be for me.
To all you amazing moms out there, please don’t wait for a photographer to offer mini sessions. YOU deserve to be celebrated all year around. If you’re considering a mommy and me photography session, please allow yourself the time to get these precious moments captured and book at least a whole hour. We, as mothers, have so much on our plates juggling our and our children’s busy schedules. Why make a photo session more stressful than it needs to be?
