Maternity

September 24, 2022

I am so excited to feature this gorgeous 48 Fields maternity photography session that I captured in Leesburg, Virginia. Maternity photography is a beautiful way to commemorate the exciting period of anticipation and joy that marks the journey towards parenthood. These photos capture the radiance and love of expecting mothers, creating a timeless memento of a truly special phase in life. The choice of location plays a pivotal role in crafting these magical moments.

As a maternity photographer in Northern Virginia, I know that a well-chosen location can add an added layer of depth, emotion, and aesthetic appeal to your maternity photos. It sets the mood, complements the theme, and works in harmony with the lighting to accentuate the natural glow of the mother-to-be. Whether it’s an open field, a serene beach, or even the comfort of your home, the right location can make your maternity photoshoot a truly memorable experience.

In this article, I’ll be showcasing this Sunset 48 fields maternity photography session, as well as a few tips to make your session here just as breathtaking.

What Is 48 Fields?

48 Fields is an exceptional wedding venue located in Leesburg, Virginia. It is here where I documented this couple’s elopement five years ago. I have since decided to specialize in newborn photography, so you can imagine how excited I was to hear the wonderful news when the gorgeous mama emailed me back in July. We jumped on a Zoom call to catch up and talk about their vision for their 48 fields maternity photography session.

48 Fields makes a great location for maternity photography sessions because of its versatility. I love to make use of the swing and the barn, but I also love this location for its wide open fields and its most stunning sunsets – weather permitting, of course. To be honest, this location is stunning year-round, making it a great place to capture beautiful maternity photographs.

Tips For Your Sunset 48 Fields Maternity Photography Session

The scenic beauty of 48 fields, also known as the “golden hour,” makes it an ideal location for a maternity photoshoot. The warm, golden light at sunset creates a magical ambiance, making you and your baby bump look ethereal. It’s also a great spot for capturing candid moments between couples creating intimate and emotional photographs.

To make the most out of your 48 fields maternity photography session, here are some tips to keep in mind:

  • Plan Ahead: As with any outdoor photoshoot, planning ahead is crucial. Make sure to check the weather forecast and schedule your session during the golden hour for optimal lighting.
  • Coordinate Outfits: Choose outfits that complement each other and the location. Soft, flowy dresses in pastel colors work well for a sunset session at 48 Fields.
  • Bring Props: Adding props can add a creative touch to your photos. Consider bringing a chalkboard with your baby’s due date or tiny shoes to symbolize the arrival of your little one.
  • Be Natural: Don’t be afraid to be yourself and let your natural emotions shine through. The best photos are the ones that capture genuine moments and emotions.
  • Have Fun: Most importantly, have fun during your maternity photoshoot! Enjoy each other’s company and embrace this special moment in your journey towards parenthood.
