Cozy D.C. Christmas Newborn Session At Home: D.C. Newborn Photographer

December 18, 2022

This cozy D.C. Christmas newborn session at home is most definitely an awesome one to share as we approach the holidays. My name is Stephanie, your professional newborn photographer in the Washington, D.C. Metro area. I love in-home sessions because they allow you to have a bit of home in all of your newborn photos.  You get to see your master bed, your favorite sofa, or even your most gorgeous Christmas decoration. This makes the end result feel a lot more personal as opposed to a photography studio location.

In this article, I’ll be sharing more details about Luke’s cozy D.C. Christmas newborn session at home and how you can book your own for your little one!

Why Should I Invest In Newborn Photography In D.C.?

Investing in newborn photography in D.C. is a precious way to capture the early moments of your baby’s life. Your newborn’s first few days will fly by, but a professional photographer can help you relive them for a lifetime. These photos will be treasured keepsakes that you can share with friends and family and even pass down to future generations. Not only that, but a cozy D.C. Christmas newborn session at home also offers a unique opportunity to bond with your little one, as you’ll be able to witness their every tiny feature up close. Overall, investing in newborn photography is a beautiful way to create lasting memories and celebrate the joy of new life.

Get Your Newborn Photos Scheduled Early

Luke was already six weeks old when I visited the family a couple of weeks ago in their gorgeous home. I typically recommend newborn photos to be captured 5-18 days after birth, for newborns tend to be super sleepy. It further allows me to pose them into sweet womb-like poses, which is more difficult to attempt as they approach the one-month mark. Luke was definitely a lot more alert, but I’m not sad about it at all. It might have been a bit of a struggle to swaddle him (hello, newborn “straight jacket“), but boy, do I love the shots with his eyes wide open!

Luke actually has an older brother who was still at preschool when I arrived. Knowing he’s an energetic kid, we decided to start with the newborn photos first and to have Charlie join us when he arrived home.
