Maria and Maurrie wanted the gender of their baby to be a surprise. Admittedly, I was a bit skeptical when Maria shared the first details of their dinosaur-themed nursery with me. What if their daughter, Maeve, was going to have a baby sister?! Mabel Penelope joined the family a few weeks ago. I couldn’t be more happy for them. Still wondering about the dinosaurs? I thought so 🙂 In my opinion, the couple did a ROAR-some job completing the nursery for their sweet baby girl.

Adding props and accessories to your DC newborn photography session
When Maria shared the news of Mabel Penelope’s arrival, we decided to add a little bit of a girly touch to their in-home newborn session. Handmade in Germany, the neutral onesie features adorable ruffle sleeves as well as a cute little bow. Along with many other amazing options, it is available to all clients who would like to access this wonderful service. Maria decided to add a little headband to complete the outfit. In their gender-neutral and dinosaur-themed nursery, everything turned out beautifully.
Including Siblings And Pets In Your Photo Shoot
Maeve had a bit of a hard time adjusting to being a big sister. As your professional newborn photographer in Northern Virginia and the Washington D.C. metro area, it is important to include siblings as much as possible and to make them feel just as special. While a newborn session does focus heavily on your newest family addition, I will be sure to engage with your other kiddos as well. Gaining their attention and trust quickly will make it easier for me to provide you with beautiful images, even if they may not be as enthusiastic about the new baby. Telling me about your child’s interests, favorite toys, hobbies, and friends will help me win them over at record speed.
