Some dive in headfirst without hesitation. Others poke at it cautiously for a full minute before committing. A few decide the whole thing is not for them and would rather just wear the frosting on their hands than their face.

We start with clean, dressed portraits before any cake is involved, so you have a full range of images from polished to messy. Once we move into the smash portion, I let baby lead. Some babies need a minute to warm up to the cake, and that hesitation is often just as sweet to photograph as the full commitment moment. I am there to guide and capture, not to force a reaction that is not happening naturally.

- Barefoot, always. It keeps the whole thing feeling relaxed and unstaged
Whatever you choose, keep in mind the outfit does not need to survive the session. Frosting is going everywhere, and that is exactly the point.
